This is a piece of (I’m fairly certain) white oak. I found it in a woodpile waiting to be burned in our fireplace and I found the shape intriguing. It has been sanded on both sides with extremely fine-grit sandpaper until it’s polished-smooth and shiny. You can see the fine details of the rings perfectly. It’s really beautiful.
