This wonderful cast-iron school-desk is stamped with “AH Andrews Co. Chicago 5R.” Near as I can tell it dates to the 19th century, mid to late 1800s, although I don’t have anything to prove that.
It’s been freshly stripped down to the iron and clear-coated with clear enamel to let the beautiful cast-iron color come through (it was a cool blue when I got it!). The wood top, seat, back, and inner cubby have all been sanded down, repaired, and stained to restore that “old classroom” feeling.
This little desk would look great indoors, but is ready to set flowers on on your porch as well. Recommended to stay out of the weather, though.
If you are local (near the Atlanta, GA / Powder Springs, GA area), please contact me. We may be able to work out a pick up / delivery / meet and save you shipping costs.
